Khet Players United Kingdom

Motto:  Ludo, Pugno, Vinco

The Rules of the Tournament

The rules are simple:

  1. All players will play with 20 minutes on a chess clock for each game.
  2. It will be the best of 3 and each will be a configuration from the rules page:classic set ups.
  3. After the first round players can use a Eye Of Horus set up (old Khet boards only in the UK as the Eye Of Horus has not come out yet for Khet 2.0).
  4. The top players will play each other until reaching the final where the last two remaining will play for first and second place (and a play off for third place).

Depending on people attending, we will either have a table championship where the top three of each group will play  the top three of another group (like in world cup football) or in smaller groups where each player faces each other individually and the top two, with the highest wins, end up in the final.  In the event of top players with the same points or wins but not in the final the two players will have a play off (best of one) where the winner goes into the next round.

The championship will be individuals who play each other with a points system and the top players going to the next round.  (Judges will decide on  the set up used.)

How to use Chess Clocks

The use of chess clocks will provide each player with 20 mins of playing time for each game. The loser will be the first to use up their time or have their pharoh hit, whichever comes first loses the game.

Clock Start

The start of the game.  The player on the left will move first (silver), so the player on the right (red) will push the button down on his clock to start the player on the left's (silver's) clock.

First Move

The next move. The player on the left (silver) moves first, so the player on the right (red) will push the his button down.

First Player takes their turn

The player on the left (silver) has finished their move (and fired their laser) and will push the button down to start the player on the right's (red's) clock.

Second Player's move

The player on the right (red) now takes their turn.

End of Second Player's Move

The player on the right now moves (red), fires their laser and pushes down their button.

First Players move next

The battle continues.

Near the end

It is near the end of the game as the clock hand nears the top of the flag.

First Player has lost as the flag goes down

Game over, the player on the left (silver) has lost as their flag goes down, if they have not won the game before then.
